Leonard Morgan, CFP, CLU, CHS
Certified Financial Planner
Investment Fund Advisor – Investia Financial Services Inc.

Leonard Morgan has been helping residents of St John’s, Mount Pearl, Conception Bay and the whole Avalon Peninsula, plan for Life, Health and Wealth since 1986.

He began his career in the life insurance business in 1986.  New to the business, Leonard’s immediate goal was “education”.  He enrolled in the Life Underwriters Training Course (LUATC) and continued on to obtain the professional designations of Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and most recently, Certified Health Specialist (CHS). Leonard has been a member of Advocis (formerly Life Underwriters’ Association of Canada) since 1986.  Having served 12 years as a director of the local Advocis chapter – two of those years as President – Leonard’s commitment to this association has never wavered.  He is a Past Vice Chair with the CLU Institute and a proud life member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT).  While active in the Holistic Financial Planning Approach, Leonard enjoys all the areas of this business including group health and group retirement services. He is licensed in mutual funds with Investia Financial Services Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc., a life and health insurance company which operates under the trade name iA Financial Group.

In his “other life” Leonard is an avid sports fan but, aside from golf, these days his participation in sports is limited to one of the “armchair persuasion”…. of which he claims absolute expertise.  An accomplished musician, Leonard spent some time in the musical spotlight as a guitarist for a well-known traditional Newfoundland artist, Harry Hibbs.

Firmly believing that one should always give back to the community, Leonard is an active volunteer with a number of charities.  Some charities, such as the MDRT Canadian Charitable Foundation and CBS Band, also benefit from Leonard’s financial support. In 2004 and 2012, in recognition of his efforts, Leonard was named as a finalist for Sun Life Financial’s Volunteer of the Year.

Leonard is married to Catherine and has two girls Veronica and Carolyn.  Veronica is a graduate from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, and currently assists with Leonard in his practice. One of the fondest highlights in his life was on April 30th 2011, when Leonard was delighted to be father-of-the-bride as he walked Carolyn down the aisle.
